I’m a Lecturer in Philosophy of Art at the University of Liverpool.
My academic work is in contemporary aesthetics, especially on the question of how art can bring about social and political change. I publish in both Philosophy and History of Art journals and collaborate on art projects.
Before joining the department at Liverpool in 2018, I was the inaugural Jeffrey Rubinoff Junior Research Fellow at Churchill College, the University of Cambridge. I obtained my doctorate (D.Phil.) from the University of Oxford in 2015.
In 2021, I have been selected as a BBC New Generation Thinker. I have also been hosting the Art Against the World podcast, a collaboration with the Liverpool Biennial.
At Liverpool, I direct MA in Art, Philosophy and Cultural Institutions.
